Welcome to Autoliv in Vårgårda.
Autoliv in Vårgårda is the home of approximately 350 employees and represents a broad spectrum of our business. We host the Autoliv Innovation Center, which focuses on the technical development of both existing and future products within airbags, seatbelts, and Mobility Safety Solutions (MSS). Within the Innovation Center, we also operate the Tech Center Prototype & Testing, which includes crash lanes, laboratory facilities, a workshop, and prototype production.
We also house Autoliv’s research organization. As a world leader in vehicle safety, our research team regularly publishes various reports and papers and participates in conferences to share knowledge. The research is primarily the basis for our continued development work of new products in order to save more lives.
In addition to
development and research, Vårgårda is a production site. We manufacture gas
generators (APG's), which are also developed locally, as well as special
products such as hood lifters and integrated child seats. The APG (Autoliv
Passenger Gas) is unique in that it contains no gunpowder—only oxygen and
hydrogen. The residual product is water, making it environmentally friendly.
